Copyright
2015

This report focuses on the unique experiences of the 319 U.S. Transgender Survey (USTS) respondents who identified as American Indian or Alaska Native, highlighting disparities between the experiences of American Indian and Alaska Native transgender people, other USTS respondents, and the U.S. population. The disparities found may reflect the impact of colonialism and historical trauma that continue to affect American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
