This health impact assessment focuses on the impact of the proposed changes to South LA's existing fast food density policies on health-related indicators in the community. The proposed policy decision would temporarily halt the development of new stand-alone fast food restaurants in South LA due to the high concentration of fast food establishments being inconsistent with the existing land use policies intended to promote commercial diversity. The study would examine how this proposed policy decision would impact healthy food access and health outcomes in South LA.
